Student Life

Leera

Student's Gorvenment

We encourage our students to take on the mantle of leadership at a young age. Leadership comes with some level of responsibility which in turn helps shape these young leaders’ character. Promoting leadership in school is a great way to promote positive life skills learning in a way that it provides young people the ability to analyze their own strengths and weaknesses; to set personal and vocational goals; and to gain the self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and abilities to carry out those goals. It also provides these youngsters the ability to guide or direct others on a course of action, influence the opinions and behaviors of others and serve as role models.

School Clubs

School Clubs and activities are another way to nurture children’s social skills. They provide opportunities and experiences that are beneficial to students’ development and awareness.  Leera School has a range of school clubs to which the students are encouraged to join anyone of their choice. The clubs’ activities are not only limited to the school premises but also in the school’s surrounding communities. This helps students to feel the gratification of helping others and also being part of something accomplished.

Also helping in school clubs, helps set a good example to other students thus making them want to contribute too to the school and society.

All in all Leera School clubs help nurture role models, preset learning opportunities, students make new friends through fraternising with club members, improves their leadership skills, provides students with a positive outlet of their energy and is a source of enjoyment for all involved

Computer Club

Every child who goes through Leera School leaves with basic skills and knowledge of the computer. Computer lessons are offered by the school right from primary to secondary section.

The school computer laboratory is well stocked with modern computers and instructors who ably conduct the lessons with the best facilitation. This gives primary pupils a competitive advantage when they join secondary schools where computer knowledge is examinable at the national level.

Writing

Engaging children and encouraging them to write has become a very important aspect in helping children to develop creativity in story making/telling, nurturing a reading culture and also leaving them informed on the different topics and events taking place at home and around the world. The pupils are required to write news articles everyday about home, school, country, foreign countries and sports. They are urged to read newspapers, summarize some of the information they have read and report them like it was their own news story.

Creative writing pushes children to explore and fully develop ideas. It also allows comprehension, text organisation and sentence structures to be taught in an exciting and meaningful way for the children
