Leera Schools proudly educates its bright young learners through the NECTA curricula on an expansive campus located in the charming area of Mbweni, in the heart of Zanzibar.

Libraries (Primary and Secondary)
Both the Primary and Secondary Leera School libraries are well resourced and aesthetically designed,featuring colourful, age-appropriate furniture that creates an inviting atmosphere for young readers. They provide dedicated high speed internet access, enabling students to explore a wide range of online resources. The Primary Library also includes a dedicated storytelling corner, making it a special place for students to enjoy.
ICT (Two Rooms)
The school has two air conditioned computer laboratories, each equipped with high speed broadband connectivity and audio visual facilities. All computers have the necessary configurations and software to support children’s learning and ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum. The computer laboratories provide an individual workstation for every child.
Science Lab (1)
The school has spacious, well-equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Science Laboratory. Models, Specimens, Displays, Charts, Learning Kits, Audio-Visual Equipment, etc. help teachers demonstrate, validate, and establish various scientific principles, and facilitate children to verify theories and relate to fundamental principles and concepts.
Nursing Room (1)
At Leera School, we provide comprehensive medical services at our well-equipped sick bay, managed by our professional and experienced school nurse. Routine health checks, first aid, and ongoing care are administered to ensure the wellbeing of our students. In cases of complicated medical issues or emergencies, we promptly make referrals to our sister referral hospital, where specialised medical attention is available. Our medical team also maintains detailed health records, monitors student health trends, and collaborates with parents to support the overall health and safety of every learner.
Outdoor Play Areas

Fully Operational Kitchen
At Leera School, we provide healthy, well balanced meals meticulously prepared by our nutrition experts and freshly prepared by our professional cooks. Our school menu is designed to meet the nutritional needs of growing children, promoting physical growth, mental alertness, and overall wellbeing. Meals are prepared in a clean and hygienic environment, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. School Transport
The school operates a well maintained fleet of buses, equipped with essential safety measures such as GPS trackers, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, seat belts, and communication facilities.
The bus crew, including hostesses, regularly attend training programmes covering road safety, safe driving, student welfare, first aid, health and hygiene, punctuality, and communication
skills.
Sports Facilities
The school has a well-laid, lush green playground, a multipurpose court. These facilities are used for providing coaching to students in various sports and games such as football, athletics, basketball, badminton, etc. Apart from organising regular Physical Education classes, these facilities are used for providing specialised coaching to students in various sports and games.
Student Care Services Centre
The school has a dedicated Counselling Centre to provide personal and group counselling to children. The Centre serves as a space for students to discuss their academic, social, emotional and behavioural concerns related to adolescence and peer group dynamics. Swimming Pool
Leera is very proud of our stunning swimming pool and early childhood pool. We believe that swimming is an essential activity that encourages healthy competition and is an important part of water safety. Swimming classes are conducted separately for boys and girls.
Boarding Facility for Boys & Girls
Our welcoming Boarding House provides a home away from home. We nurture each child in a supportive and structured environment to help them excel and reach their full potential within a supportive and structured environment.
Madrasa Classes
We offer after-school madrasa classes designed for students of all grades where learners are guided by qualified male and female Qurraa, scholars, and teachers. Through this extra curricular, we aim to equip students with the essential knowledge, values, and practices to live as upright and spiritually conscious Muslims in today’s world.
